When it comes to Summit County summer dining, it’s hard to beat a good barbecue in the great outdoors. Add a little entertainment and large animals, and you can understand why three of Summit’s most popular outdoor dining destinations don’t involve a restaurant.

Two Below Zero’s Chuck Wagon Dinner and Wild West Show in Frisco delivers the most bang for your buck—literally. After arriving at 5 p.m. at the Frisco Adventure Park, you’ll be transported via a wagon pulled by two 1,500-pound draft mules to a site on the peninsula with views of Dillon Reservoir. There, the fun starts with horseshoes, “cowboy golf,” and roping stations where you can practice your lassoing skills while snacking on biscuits and honey. Dinner follows with smoked barbecue beef brisket, barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans, corn muffins, and apple cobbler with whipped cream. Starring gunslingers named Sheriff and Dirty Dog, the Jackman brothers’ Wild West Show mixes comedy with O.K. Corral–style sibling rivalry while encouraging audience participation. The dinners start June 15 and run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through mid-August. $69 for adults, $49 for kids 4–12, kids 3 and under free. 970-453-1520, dinnersleighrides.com
