Every ski resort has its beating heart, its bustling nexus. At Copper Mountain, Burning Stones Plaza in Center Village has filled that role for decades. It’s where people reconnect after a hard day of powder skiing—or connect for the first time, perhaps, while enjoying a libation and soaking up the rays in a south-facing Adirondack chair. Part of Center Village’s magic has been the way it always seems to provide fun places to hang out, eat, and drink, and no establishment carried that torch more ably through the years than Endo’s Adrenaline Café.

This winter marks the beginning of a new era, as Copper debuts a $1.5 million makeover of Endo’s as the Ten Mile Tavern, a new restaurant and taproom featuring indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a copper-sheathed bar, and an elevated patio space (to amplify your goggle tan while people watching, of course), with 20 craft brews on tap and an eclectic menu with everything from creative apps (e.g., steak and gorgonzola nachos, pastrami fries, crab and potato fritters) to brats and burgers and personal pan pizzas.

The Tavern isn’t the only new face in Center Village. Toast & Co, a premium breakfast and brunch spot, uses Colorado Proud ingredients to build tasty plates and morning brews with bluegrass humming in the background. Later, it transforms into an après lounge, serving small plates, cocktails, and a laid-back atmosphere for toasting all those face shots.

Downhill Duke’s, meanwhile, bridges the gap between the Tavern and Toast. You can’t be pretentious if you offer a special dog-friendly patio and dog-friendly menu items, but Duke’s is no kennel, either. The relaxed vibe invites you to kick back around the fire pit and sip something hot or cold. Or, if the urge strikes, to dance on a table. What happens at après stays at après. coppercolorado.com
